Community Health Needs Assessment
As a community hospital, our goal is to care for you when you have an illness or injury, and to help you and your family members live healthy lives. In 2022, we completed a community needs assessment to help us determine the greatest health needs in our communities so we can find ways to help.
There are many things that influence community health, and it takes a variety of organizations and individuals to address them. We reached out to many of those in our communities to help us complete our assessment. We also performed public surveys to get feedback from those who reside in our communities. In addition, we reviewed data from county, state and federal sources to help us understand the scope of the health challenges that face our communities.
From the health needs assessment we determined there are three areas where we can make the greatest impact. These include:
- Increased Education to the Community on Healthy Eating and Active Living
- Increased Access and Education involving Chronic Diseases
- Substance Use/ Mental Health
With these priorities in place, we will use what we have learned to develop programs and to work closely with other organizations to apply a team focus on meeting these health needs in our communities.
