In order to prevent complications from wounds that have not started healing in 2 weeks or completed healing in 6 weeks, you should consult your physician whether wound care at the Wound Care Center is necessary.

Basic Wound Care:

Cleaning: Gently clean the wound with mild soap and water, removing any debris or dirt.

Bleeding: Apply pressure to stop any bleeding.

Ointment: Apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment or petroleum jelly.

Dressing: Cover the wound with a bandage to keep it clean and protected.

Dressing Changes : Change the dressing at least once a day or as directed by a healthcare professional.
