(Coshocton, Ohio – August 8, 2018) – The Coshocton Regional Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to quality and safety has been recognized with The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for accreditation. The accreditation award recognizes the hospital’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s national state-of-the-art standards for healthcare quality and safety in hospitals.

Coshocton Regional Medical Center underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey in April 2018. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated Coshocton Regional Medical Center for compliance with nationally recognized standards of care specific to the needs of patients. These standards include infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management.

“This achievement of Joint Commission accreditation reflects the work that has been done at every level of our organization to create a culture of excellence,” said Stephanie D. Conn, MSN, RN, Chief Executive Officer of Coshocton Regional Medical Center. “The surveyors randomly check safety protocols, infection control safeguards, and patient care processes to ensure our compliance with national standards. Any individual employee can be questioned by a surveyor, so our success speaks to our staff’s involvement in continuous improvements to ensure ongoing organization-wide adherence to high safety and quality standards.”

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve health care for the public by evaluating healthcare organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. The standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts, providers, measurement experts, and patients. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 19,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States, including more than 10,300 hospitals and home care organizations.
